For the research on gut microbiota lipid metabolites
Co-hosted by: Noster Inc.
Speaker
Taiki Inoue(Noster Inc.)
Detail

The human gut harbors over 1,000 species and 100 trillion diverse gut microbiota, outnumbering the 37 trillion human body cells. Recent research has revealed that these gut microbiota play an important role in human metabolism and the immune system, and studies in this area are progressing. Noster Inc. focuses on the metabolites produced by gut microbiota that affect human health (postbiotics), with particular attention to the lipid metabolites of gut microbiota derived from dietary fats consumed by humans.
In this seminar, we will introduce the diverse effects of gut microbiota lipid metabolites and their development, as well as analysis services for research on gut microbiota lipid metabolites.

Airyscan vs. Lattice SIM Which would you choose?
Introducing ZEISS multimodal super-resolution microscopy technology
Co-hosted by: Carl Zeiss Co., Ltd.
Speaker
Yasuhiko Sato (Product and Application Sales Specialist Research Microscopy Solutions Light Microscopy Expart)
Detail

Recently, we have seen many microscopes that utilize super-resolution technology.
What kind of microscopes come to mind when you think of super-resolution microscopy?
In this seminar, we will introduce two of ZEISS' most popular super-resolution microscopes, Airyscan and Lattice SIM.

The confocal technique is a must for point-scanning. The Airyscan and Lattice SIM super-resolution microscopes are based on a low-noise, stable galvanometer scanner that can achieve higher resolution than a confocal laser microscope at speeds up to 47.5 fps, with the familiar operation of a confocal laser microscope. Confocal laser microscope-based super-resolution technology Airyscan looks good for my research.”

Lattice SIM, a new camera-based 3D super-resolution technology with a new illuminating method that can achieve resolutions up to 60 nm in XY and 200 nm in Z and an extremely fast acquisition speed of up to 255 fps and is minimally invasive, is by far the best choice for my research.
Similar yet dissimilar, these two microscope choices have their own distinct personalities that make them a better fit for your many studies.

Which is better for your research?
We hope that after the seminar, you will leave the venue talking about the topic with your colleagues, or even talking to yourself.

Which would you choose?
Airyscan or Lattice SIM?
Or... both?

We look forward to seeing you there.

Key Points for Successful RNA Sequencing with a Focus on the Benefits of Library Self-Production at NEBNext
Co-hosted by: New England Biolabs Japan
Chair
Hanazaki Yohei (New England Biolabs Japan)
Speaker
Yoshida Naoki (New England Biolabs Japan)
Detail

RNA sequencing is a method to study gene expression by comprehensively reading mRNA and ncRNA sequences using a next-generation sequencer. It has become a familiar method due to the improvement of sequencer functions and reduction of running costs. In addition, there are many choices of how to proceed, such as whether to perform library preparation and analysis by yourself or to ask a contracted service. In this seminar, we will introduce the advantages of preparing RNA libraries by yourself using the NEBNext RNA Library Preparation Kit, comparing them with the advantages of outsourcing. In addition, we will explain the key points to efficiently obtain reliable data, from sampling method to RNA purification, sequencing, and analysis. This seminar is full of useful information for both those who are just starting out and those who are already doing so.
